Welcome to the Future of Science Seminar with James Boyd, CEO of the Wolfram Institute. James co-founded the Wolfram Institute together with Stephen Wolfram in order to advance mathematics, physics, and other scientific disciplines, through the strategic use of computational technology. In his abstract seminar, James focuses on the automation of science and what the potential consequences of this might be. He also talked about what we, as scientists and scientific organizations, should be doing in order to prepare for this world of fully automated science. We talked about the role of human scientists in this world of fully automated science, and covered some pretty wild concepts like cyborg scientists and transhumanism. But we also talked about the role of the decentralized science movement in fully automated science.
